Eye Movement Integration Training

What is it? A neuro-therapeutic approach that is effective for relieving trauma, eliminating phobias and changing the limiting beliefs that underlie depression and anxiety.

Similarly to EMDR, it works on the limbic system. In addition, EMI as developed by Sue Bayliss, combines the eye movement techniques with the effectiveness of trance work and NLP skills.

Course Objectives

After completing the course, participants will be able to deal quickly and effectively with a broad range of mental health problems such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), phobias, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), depression, anxiety panic attacks and bereavement issues.

Course Outline

Day 1

The neurobiology of trauma and its impact on the mind body system. How childhood trauma and neglect affect brain development. Symptoms of PTSD, the role of the amygdala in fear responses. What is EMI and how does it work?

Day 2

How the limiting beliefs that underlie depression and anxiety are formed in childhood and how to uncover them. The role of limiting beliefs in trauma. Trance language and how it is used to enhance the effects of EMI.

Day 3

The practice of EMI, demonstration and application with feedback. How to integrate it with other counselling approaches.

Day 4

Further practice of EMI with a consideration of when to use it and when not to. How to prepare clients for the work and ensure their wellbeing.

Day 5: Follow up on work with clients.
