The Sulis Consulting service identifies and attends to constraints on business performance among the personnel in the business as well as those embodied in business processes and policies.

However, it is a core philosophy of our approach to business improvement that says it is essential to attend simultaneously to the effectiveness and wellbeing of the leadership team. Should the business leaders be ill equipped to manage the required developments in business health and well being, any improvements in business performance are likely to be transitory at best and may even fail to take effect.

The performance of a team of people is directly related to the mental and physical health of each individual in the team. Management style and practices have a direct influence upon employee emotional wellbeing. Consequently, the best performing teams are those that benefit from a business culture and leaders that recognise this aspect of business performance and embrace activities and policies that contribute to optimising staff wellbeing.

Leadership is no longer about clarity of rules and autocracy, it is recognised today that corporate social responsibility extends just as much into the caring for and coaching of staff as it does to customers.

Our service is complied to suit the needs of each business and its leadership team, whether that is a sole proprietor or a corporate board. The way we work is to carry out a number of assessment and diagnostic activities, examples include:

Define the members of the management team.
Facilitation meeting with the whole team to explain the concept and our motivation and processes.
Define and agree the objectives for the Sulis service.
Define and agree the method for reporting back with findings and recommendations.
Advise on the importance of follow up and appropriate mechanisms.
One to one conversation with each member of the management team, to allow concerns.
Incorporate, confidential yet specific feedback on leadership style and issues within the employee health and wellbeing diagnostic activity.
Clarification of the organisation structure from a chain of command point of view.
Pull all this together and identify issues, whether organisational, personal or practical that inhibit performance.
Report to the Management team, in the agreed manner, and facilitate an action plan.
Carry out follow up activity as agreed in order to ensure that benefits are derived and any changes are embedded for the long term.
